RRUK, Lia's Wings & DocBike at Cheddar Gorge for the start of the 2024 National Teddy Bear Relay.

The TENTH ANNIVERSARY RRUK National Motorcycle Teddy Bear Relay, in support of Lia’s Wings and DocBike will start at Cheddar Gorge on Sunday 30th of June 2024.

Dr Ian Mew from DocBike (one of this year’s charities) has volunteered to carry the bears on his bike for the first leg of the relay from Cheddar Gorge to The White Harte, Warmley, Bristol. Dr Ian will then hand the bears over to Lance Jordan, who will continue onto the next handover. The bears will be handed over from bike to bike 295 times on their three week, 10,600+ mile journey through England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and then onto their final destination, The Old George Inn, Sykehouse, Goole.

In 2014 a group of complete strangers decided to organise a charity ride in aid of Help For Heroes. Since that initial event, the relay has been making a difference to people’s lives and has grown from strength to strength. We are proudly celebrating ten years of charity fundraising, showing the world that the biking community is a force for good.

This year’s charities are:
DocBike’ Saving lives with emergency roadside critical care, education & training.
Lia’s Wings’ Transforming lives through hospital air transfers for children.

So, come on everyone get involved!
